  7. I remember when I first went to the Wheelers Hill Fire Station in 1979 and Max took me under his wing and taught me how an out station worked. I was so impressed with his easy going nature and good humour. He was a joy to be around.

  8. My condolences to Helen and family.
Max and Helen were, for a long time, the only parents I had and Mark, David, Damian, Camille and Fred my brothers and sisters. I have so many happy memories with this beautiful family I was blessed to be a part of. The highlight of my week was Sunday dinners with the family and Max always had a way of making me laugh and feel loved. He never called me by my name, I was Dutchy to him. He was a special man. Time, distance and circumstances have kept us apart but I loved him dearly and was often in my thoughts. Thank you for the memories. Sending love from WA. Johanna (AKA Sandra, AKA Dutchy) xxxx

  9. Sending big hugs to Aunty Helen and all the family. Uncle Max was a real character. He always made you smile and laugh; we will remember him very fondly.
