Condolences / Guest Book

  1. I am deeply saddened by the untimely loss of Dr Karen Lake. She was a great doctor, and more importantly, a caring and compassionate human being. I had been a long term patient of Dr Lake’s – she patiently saw me through my long journey towards getting a diagnosis for my endometriosis, infertility and then a successful pregnancy. I’m so glad I was able to introduce my newborn son to her in 2023. We always shared some laughs when I’d go in to see her, and we often talked about her horses, German Shepards and other members of the animal kingdom. We both shared a love for animals. I will truly miss Dr Lake’s presence in this world. I convey my wishes for peace and strength for Dr Lake’s family at this time. She was so proud of the diligent and caring doctor her daughter had become.

  2. Karen was our family doctor for over 10 years and was the best we ever knew. She always took the time to listen no matter how busy she was and provided the care we needed with such kindness. Her curious nature and thirst for knowledge led us into many discussions over the years. We always knew we were in safe hands with Karen and in tough times she was a great comfort to us.

We loved that Karen would share her own stories – many of which were about her horses, cats and dogs and what shenanigans they were up to. This meant we always left her office with a smile.

Karen was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by us. We are deeply sorry for your loss.

Love and prayers to Ralph, Paul and Ally. Thank you Bob for being there for Trudy. Although distance has kept us apart, our 54 year friendship has never wavered. My memories go back to that little girl about four years old with her brother Ralph when we first met in Queensland. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends.

  11. Our Condolences to Alexandra, all Karen’s family and friends at this truly sad time.
We have been patients of Karen’s for over twelve years, both at Narregate Medical Centre and Our Medical Home Cranbourne.
Karen’s care and support was second to none. She often told us any stories of her horses, dogs and the many Equestrian her daughter competed in.
We will miss her at the practice, we are in good care with your daughter who is the same as her mum with the care she now provides.
Karen you are now resting free of this earthly pain you have endured.
    Thank you Dr Lake
    RIP Karen

She was the best doctor ever. Always in my heart

  13. Karen was my GP for around 20 years. When she moved to Cranbourne there was no great need to move my files from Narre Warren as all that information was stored firmly in her mind. Karen was a wonderful GP who always listened and of course was up for a chat during visits. Sometimes at the end of a long day she would choose my visit to take a bit of a break and have a snack from the special drawer while we talk about the horses or our kids. I will always remember and respect her and be grateful that she was my GP. Sending thoughts to Ally who I was able to follow your life’s journey through a proud mum’s stories. RIP Karen

  14. Our family was really saddened by the passing of Dr. Karen Lake.
She was a wonderful doctor and an even more amazing person.
She showed us compassion in time of need,
supported our health journeys and would always
go the extra mile to ensure we are okay.
I had been a patient of hers since my early
teen years and later she became my children’s GP too.
A beautiful soul, gone too soon

  15. I am so deeply saddened to hear the passing of Dr Karen Lake. She will always remain in my thoughts as one of the most genuine, kind, empathetic and caring human beings I have ever had the privilege to know and I consider myself blessed to have had her as my family Doctor. I will never forget how she made me feel and the impact she had on me as one of her patients. I will always remember our conversations about her life and what she enjoyed and how proud she was of her daughter. My deepest condolences to all her dearest family and friends, my heart, prayers and thoughts are with you.

  16. Dr Karen Lake, Was the first doctor I had when I moved from Alice Springs to Melb in 2008. Met her at Narre gate and then followed her to Our medical home! She was more than a doctor to me, as our appointments we filled with checkins, educational advise, moral boosts and a short update of her family especially the pride she had in her daughter!

I am still lost for words that this absolute gem of a human is not here anymore but I guess heaven needed another great GP and an even better human! Eternal Rest unto Karen, Oh Lord and let your perpetual shine upon her soul. May she rest peacefully in your hands! AMEN!
