so missed
Our most loyal member Lyn, words cannot even begin to express how heartbroken we are. 71 years of dedication, Life Member, long term Committee Member, Order of Australia Medal, a lifetime of history, selflessness, community spirit and friendship all rolled into one person.
Our thoughts are with Lyns family at this time, as well as members of the Scouts, Red Cross, Probus and Uniting Church, as well as the many other groups she was a member of.
Your melody will echo in our memories forever.
Rest in peace and harmony, dear friend.
Gone Home
The Committee and members of Probus Club of Pakenham wish to extend our sincerest condolences to Lyn’s family and all who knew her.
Lyn was a respected member of our club and will be greatly missed by each of us. Having held many positions within our club during her 30 years of being and active member, Lyn contributed significantly to our club’s success.
For many years Lyn was the photographer as far back as 1999 .

Dear Lyn
You have been a welcoming friend to us since we moved in to the street in 2004. Your cherry hello and smile always greeted us. Rest in peace with Keith .
You will be sadly missed
Dear Lyn, in fondest memories of an unselfish person who gave her all to everything she did, I knew her through Scouting and Pakenham Branch of Red Cross of which she was instrumental in keeping alive. She followed in her Mother’s footsteps, and was President for many ears, you will be sadly missed Lyn, rest in peace.

Dearest Lynn,
It was a joy working in the hills with you.
Lyn, I was honoured to have known you
I’ll remember you always
May your memories bring me both tears and smiles.
Always in my heart!
A wearer of many hats, Lyn was also a nurse who I had the privilege of working with at the Pakenham Hospital. She went on to work in the community. This association continued on through Cubs and Scouts. She was so supportive of our children. Then as the years progressed, further associations continued through community events with the Cardinia Civic Concert Band. Thank you Lyn. Your memory and community spirit will live on. Kaye Howells

Sending our thoughts, and love to the family and friends of Lyn, in this sad time. Geoff, Gill and Rhondda Legge from the Pakenham Uniting Church
Sending the biggest hugs, love and support to Marcia, Ken, Deb, Collin and all the family on the passing of Auntie Lyn. Lyn was a profound leader in the Community and she has touched so many lives.
I remember the camping holidays with lots of laughs. Also, the nerves getting the children injections and seeing Lyn familiar face settled us all. She must have inoculated most of Pakenham back then.
In time once the shock settles you can all remember the special memories with fondness of your sister and Auntie.
Love always Karina, Ross and family xxx
As the Research Historian for the Past Trainee Nurses of Williamstown Hospital, I had the pleasure of interviewing and writing Lyn’s nursing story in March 2021. I was so very sorry to hear of Lyn’s tragic death . She was such a special person we would always talk at our yearly Reunions. The last time I spoke with her was in March 2025.
Lyn always wanted to be a nurse. Becuase Williamstown was a smaller hospital, it suited her. She talked of coming home for her sisters wedding and started work at the Pakenham Bush Nursing Hospital where she worked for 13.5 years.During the ASH Wednesday Fires Lyn called up her Mum to come and help which was wonderful for them to be together. She then did immunising for 32 years. “One day when she was immunising, a mum bought in her daughter who Lyn delivered. That was why she loved Pakenham she said, she felt so much a part of the community” She talked of her love of scouting, being in the Cardinia Civic concert band from the age of 8, a volunteer for Red Cross, carying on the tradition of her parents. During her Nursing Career, “she was proudest of working in Midwifery, and the Packenham Bush Nursing Hospital and being present for the births of her sisters’ babies which she said was a privlege”
From the Past Trainee Nurses of Williamstown Hospital, I send our heart felt condolenses to the family at this very sad time. Please contact me if you would like a copy of Lyn’s nursing story, and the pictures that she asked me to include with her story, plus photos that were taken at our Reunions…with much love Wendy
Lyn was an integral part of the Pakenham and later Cardinia Shire Immunisation team for around 20 years. She was extremely capable, a lovely lady and friend who will be sadly missed.
Our deepest consolences to Lyns family. May she rest in peace and our thoughts are with the family.
Tim and I send our heartfelt condolences and apologies for Wednesday. We are away on holidays and so sorry we cannot be there to support you all and celebrate the life of Lyn. She has been a huge part of my scouting life She will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Rest peacefully with loved ones in peace.
Such tragic news of Lyn’s passing. Difficult to come to terms with.
So grateful that on our last trip to Pakenham we had 2 dinners in a group and and afternoon watching an AFL game with Lyn and Olive.
My thoughts and prayers are with Lyn’s, Marcia and Deb’s families xx
Dear Lyn, we are so saddened by your tragic passing. You have been a wonderful community person involved in so much of Pakenham.
Remembered first as a nurse when you cared for Ian, then me and our children, when they were born (you loved bringing the babies in for their feeds). You were their at vaccination time too, and all through their Scouting years. As adults, you were eager to know how they, and their children were living life.
Our deepest condolences to Marcia and Ken, Deb and Colin and families and Michael and family. Our thoughts are with you.
A truly lovely lady and friend who will be greatly missed but always remembered.
Forever resting with Keith.
Glennda & Ian Studd and family.
Many memories of playing mid week tennis with Lyn together with Marcia and Deb. Sincere sympathy to all the family. Judy Flynn
My friend Lyn.
I enjoyed your company and doing things with you.
A true community minded woman who will be missed.
Lyn Stephenson was a lovely, kind, caring and compassionate career for our community, the scouting movement, her nursing career, she helped Dr Cox deliver our first born son Geoffrey Robert in 1968, Lyn’s long association playing in the brass section of the Pakenham band. Lyn deserved a much kinder way to leave us. It will be very hard to replace her. Our love to Michael & family, Marcia Ken & family, Deb, Colin & family
Love Carol & the Porter family xxx
