  7. A wearer of many hats, Lyn was also a nurse who I had the privilege of working with at the Pakenham Hospital. She went on to work in the community. This association continued on through Cubs and Scouts. She was so supportive of our children. Then as the years progressed, further associations continued through community events with the Cardinia Civic Concert Band. Thank you Lyn. Your memory and community spirit will live on. Kaye Howells

  17. Sending the biggest hugs, love and support to Marcia, Ken, Deb, Collin and all the family on the passing of Auntie Lyn. Lyn was a profound leader in the Community and she has touched so many lives.
I remember the camping holidays with lots of laughs. Also, the nerves getting the children injections and seeing Lyn familiar face settled us all. She must have inoculated most of Pakenham back then.
In time once the shock settles you can all remember the special memories with fondness of your sister and Auntie.
Love always Karina, Ross and family xxx

  18. As the Research Historian for the Past Trainee Nurses of Williamstown Hospital, I had the pleasure of interviewing and writing Lyn’s nursing story in March 2021. I was so very sorry to hear of Lyn’s tragic death . She was such a special person we would always talk at our yearly Reunions. The last time I spoke with her was in March 2025.
Lyn always wanted to be a nurse. Becuase Williamstown was a smaller hospital, it suited her. She talked of coming home for her sisters wedding and started work at the Pakenham Bush Nursing Hospital where she worked for 13.5 years.During the ASH Wednesday Fires Lyn called up her Mum to come and help which was wonderful for them to be together. She then did immunising for 32 years. “One day when she was immunising, a mum bought in her daughter who Lyn delivered. That was why she loved Pakenham she said, she felt so much a part of the community” She talked of her love of scouting, being in the Cardinia Civic concert band from the age of 8, a volunteer for Red Cross, carying on the tradition of her parents. During her Nursing Career, “she was proudest of working in Midwifery, and the Packenham Bush Nursing Hospital and being present for the births of her sisters’ babies which she said was a privlege”
From the Past Trainee Nurses of Williamstown Hospital, I send our heart felt condolenses to the family at this very sad time. Please contact me if you would like a copy of Lyn’s nursing story, and the pictures that she asked me to include with her story, plus photos that were taken at our Reunions…with much love Wendy

  22. Dear Lyn, we are so saddened by your tragic passing. You have been a wonderful community person involved in so much of Pakenham.
Remembered first as a nurse when you cared for Ian, then me and our children, when they were born (you loved bringing the babies in for their feeds). You were their at vaccination time too, and all through their Scouting years. As adults, you were eager to know how they, and their children were living life.
Our deepest condolences to Marcia and Ken, Deb and Colin and families and Michael and family. Our thoughts are with you.
A truly lovely lady and friend who will be greatly missed but always remembered.
    Forever resting with Keith.

  25. Lyn Stephenson was a lovely, kind, caring and compassionate career for our community, the scouting movement, her nursing career, she helped Dr Cox deliver our first born son Geoffrey Robert in 1968, Lyn’s long association playing in the brass section of the Pakenham band. Lyn deserved a much kinder way to leave us. It will be very hard to replace her. Our love to Michael & family, Marcia Ken & family, Deb, Colin & family
