Eleanor David and Alastair.
I am so sad as Bob was such a wonderful man.
His energy and committeemen to scouts, cricket and so many community organisation was wonderful.
I will miss his humour and his down to earth comments on people and situations.
My prayers are with you.
Saddened to hear of Bobs passing, condolences to Eleanor, David, Alastair and families. Bob was a teammate, neighbour and friend for many years. His untiring commitment to Hockey, scouting and community never waned and I have many memories of being very careful of not to stand too close in front of him when he was clearing the ball in a hockey match. We hadn’t caught up in the recent past but he has left a lasting impression.
Lots of Love and respect
Rob and Jenny Toon
Our family extend sympathy and support to Eleanor and the family on the passing of Bob. He was a much-loved member of the community of Upper Beaconsfield and beyond in so many ways of sport, scouting and more.
May he rest in peace.

Eleanor, David, Alastair and family –
We’re all very sad to hear of Bob’s passing. Although we were separated by many miles, we always held our family connection dearly and always looked forward to your visits to Scotland and laterally to Northern Ireland. While he was, undoubtedly, a proud Australian, at heart he was still a wee laddie from Edinburgh who never quite managed to lose his Scottish accent – especially after a dram or two!
Whenever Bob was around, kindness, enthusiasm and laughter was never in short supply and the world is a poorer place for his passing. We will miss him and our thoughts are with you all.
Dear Eleanor, Tim and I send heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Bob was a huge part of our scouting story and our connection to the Beaconsfeild Upper community. His legacy is huge and will empower many youth and adults in scouting for years to come. Best wishes Tim and Bronwyn Mepstead
We both had a lot of time for Bob, as a neighbour, customer, fellow committee member and scout leader. He was a great guy, who knew so much and was always happy to quietly share that knowledge. We’re glad to have known him and will miss him.
RIP Mr Taylor ” Squizzy”. You were a well respected teacher at Doveton High.
Condolences to all his family
Former student 1975 – 1980
So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a well respected and very liked teacher at Doveton High School. He was so excited about coming along to our 50th reunion in November as he was looking forward to catching up with all of us and we catching up with him as well. On behalf of his students at Doveton High School we send our condolences to his family and friends. RIP Mr Robert ” Squizzy” Taylor
Eleanor, David and Alastair, we were so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob was much loved by his family in Scotland and will be remembered fondly as a man who always brightened up a room with his infectious joie de vivre. Bob throughout his life gave so much of himself, particularly to the scouting community, and by doing so will have enriched the lives of countless young people.

Condolences to Eleanor and the family. Sorry to see you go Bob/Mr Taylor. A great friend to my Dad Werner through scouts and my awesome geography teacher. Skills I learnt from you I still use in my working life including my little forestry book you gave us. You kept the spark alive and I so appreciated your words of encouragement whenever we caught up and discussed my adventures. A strong, firm, sometimes scary teacher but the best and most influential in my lifetime. Rest in peace you wonderful man.
Sending our love and thinking of you all at this time.
