Andrew was a kind soul. I knew him from work and had some of amazing discussions with him. I wish I could know him more personally. A person so amazing and knowledgeable can never be replaced or forgotten. He will always live in our memory. Praying for strength to the grieving family – Jigar
Love and thoughts going to the Lander family. There are no words. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Madelyn, Elizabeth, Richard, Chris and Natalie our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love Andrew, Fabiola and Marcio
Working with Andy and being part of such a close-knit community while we were based in Manila has left me with some of my fondest memories of an incredibly good human being.
Andy had a dry sense of humour — the kind that not everyone picked up on, but those who did knew how funny he could be. He was kind, genuine and generous, and I can’t recall ever hearing him speak badly of anyone. That quiet goodness was simply who he was.
And then there was his golf. A natural athlete who could casually hit absolute bombs, making the rest of us look well below average. He was also the only one in our group to hit a hole-in-one — something I’m sure he would have been far too modest to make a big deal about.
Above all, Andy was devoted to his family. He was a proud godfather, a loving son and brother, a committed and caring partner, and someone who clearly meant so much to the people closest to him.
Gone far too soon, Andy, but I hope you knew the impact you had on so many people. You made a difference in your own quiet way, and I know I’m not alone in feeling incredibly lucky to have known you.
That local golf round of ours never did come around, mate. But I’m grateful that we reconnected over the past few months, even if it was just over a coffee or getting some fresh air together. Those moments mean a lot more now.
You’ll be deeply missed, Andy, but never forgotten. Rest easy, mate.

I had the pleasure of working with Andy for several years at ANZ. His gentle manner, general decency and self depreciating humour made the lives of the rest of us in the team a little brighter for his presence. I am grateful for having the chance to get to know him and mourn for your loss.

Richard, Elizabeth and Chris. I’m so deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Andy’s passing. He was an incredible human being, his generosity compassion, humour and intelligence were always present.
We shared so many amazing times together at university, despite being out of touch for many years he was a valued friend. He will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Andy, I will always be grateful for your friendship, the laughs we shared and the memories that we made. You uplifted the lives of those around you and your sense of responsibility and devotion to those you loved, defined the person you were. Love and thoughts to the Blen/Petis and Lander families. Rest peacefully my friend.
To our beloved Tito Andy,
There are not enough words to tell you or to tell the world just how much you meant to us. You walked into our lives and became the very heart of it. You were more than an uncle you were the father figure we held close, the one who showed us what true strength looks like not in force, but in kindness. You were the one who stayed, who listened, who cared, and who loved us completely, even when we didn’t know how to love ourselves.
You showed us what it means to love unconditionally not just in big moments, but in the small, quiet ones in the way you listened, the way you remembered the little things, the way you stood by us when things were hard, and the way you loved our mother with such steadfast devotion. You shared your life with us so generously your home, your time, your heart and you made us feel like we were yours, always.
There are days ahead that will feel empty without you. Moments we will wish we could turn to you, questions we will wish we could ask you, joys we will wish we could share with you. But your love is not gone it lives in us now. It lives in the way we care for each other, in the way we look out for our mother, in the kindness we show to others, and in the way we remember you. You taught us how to love deeply and faithfully, and that is a lesson we will carry forever.
You were a gift to us, Tito Andy the greatest gift we could have ever received. We are so honored, so blessed, and so grateful that we got to be part of your life, just as you became the most precious part of ours. Rest now, and know that you are loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered with every beat of our hearts. Until we meet again. ️
So very sorry to hear this news, sending you our heartfelt condolences. Much love Graeme and Barbara Gillespie.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. May you find comfort and strength during this difficult time. Rest in peace. ️
Dad, where do I even begin?
Thank you for all your sacrifices. You gave everything for us, you did everything just to give us a good life, even when it was so hard for you. You never complained, you just loved us unconditionally.
It breaks my heart that you won’t be there at my wedding next year. That was one of my biggest dreams, to see you there, proud and smiling for me. Now I will be looking up at the sky, knowing you are watching over me.
I will miss your voice, your advice, your hug. But I will never forget everything you did for us.
I love you so much, Dad. Thank you for being the best father in the world. Rest well in paradise. Until we meet again.
*All my love,*From Your son, JV*

Our deepest condolences to Richard, Elizabeth and family. We are saddened by his passing and that we are not going to spend more time together but feel privileged and blessed that we could journey and share in the sacrament of Confirmation with him in August at St. Thomas The Apostle Church.
Listen carefully, my son, to the Master’s instructions, and attend to them with the ear of your heart – St Benedict of Nursia (A quote that resonated so deeply with Andrew from his chosen saint for Confirmation).
Andrew, you will be lovingly remembered by Ruth, Craig, Wendy and Jeremy.
Dear Madelyn, Richard, Elizabeth and Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this most difficult time.
Our deepest condolences . Love The Mallett family
It is with tremendous sadness that I received the news of Andrew’s passing, which has come as a real shock.
Andrew was a great mate. A trusted friend. Incredibly generous. Someone who lived life wholeheartedly.
We started as classmates at Intermediate Normal School and our friendship lasted throughout Palmy Boys High, and much later, as we began our careers, when living together on Ebor Street, Hohiria Road, and St Kilda Road.
I have many great memories of birthdays, sleepovers, rounds of golf, hockey, Melbourne, and so much more.
To Richard, Elizabeth, Chris, and the loved ones I never met, the Travis family is thinking of you at this difficult time.
Gone too soon, but forever in our hearts and minds.
All my love to Andy’s family.
I feel privileged to have known someone that cared so deeply for the people around him. Im thankful for our time together, I wish there was more.
Im sorry we can’t be with you today. There will be a weekend of golf in my future dedicated to the fella that was always happy to share a laugh over a beer and/or a round of golf.
My love to all
Damien
Andy and I didn’t work together for very long, but the time I spent in the Philippines left a disproportionate mark on my life. I remember Andy’s intelligence, his kindness, his dry sense of humour. My condolences to his family. He will be missed by so many.
Our sincerest and deepest condolences Richard, Elizabeth, Chris, Madelyn and families. Thinking of you with love in this sad loss of Andrew
sorry Madelyn for the loss of your loved one, may God strengthen you during this painful moment
Dear Lander Family and Maddy,
Please accept my sincere condolences for your sudden and tragic loss. Andrew was a kind-hearted and hardworking soul, which is testament to the way he was raised and the environment he grew up in.
Please know that you are being thought of and prayed for. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that “God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress”, and Psalms 34:18 assures us that “He heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds”.
It is my hope and prayer that you receive the needed comfort, courage and strength during this distressing and painful period.
With kindness,
Ash Pappas
So tragic, such a gentle soul. Thank you for the memories. RIP.
Deepest condolences to Madelyn and family on the sudden loss of Andy.
A beautiful, talented and thoughtful human being. It was truly a privilege to know Andy and be a part of his abundant life.
His interest in others, caring personality, smile and humour will always be remembered and cherished.
May God give you comfort at this time of sadness.
I worked with Andy for many years across different countries. Sometimes we were just a team of two. We became close. I will miss Andy’s intellect, humour, calmness and general decency. I will fondly remember the chats we had, Andy’s laugh, and the good times at work and socially. My thoughts are with you all at this time.
Rest easy Andy, I will miss you.
Geoff
Dear Elizabeth, Richard, Chris and Maddy, my sincere condolences on the loss of your Andy. I was so very fortunate that in 2011 fate brought Andy into my life as a work colleague in Manila. That chance encounter turned into an expat family and then a 15 year friendship. Andy had a brilliant mind, a dry sense of humour, he was a natural sportsman, he was incredibly persistent and resilient and a displayed a loyalty beyond compare. I feel lucky that I was able to call him a friend for so long. Some might have called Andy a stubborn bastard, but it was one of the things I loved about him. He alway got into the detail, made sure he knew the final position and then fought for what was right. We often had conversations about not everything being black and white and needing to play in the grey, but generally it was either black or white for Andy. And that was because he really did know what was right and would stand up for it, regardless of the personal consequences. He was a man of integrity, whether at work or in his personal life, and he will be hugely missed. He will always be remembered. Sarah
