Condolences / Guest Book

  1. I have known Denis since we both started work in The South Wales Echo more than 70 years ago. Despite being a continent apart we have always kept in touch. Before moving to Australia I have so many happy memories of the time Val and I spent with them both. I have one regret that he wasn’t our best man at our wedding..
He was one of my oldest friends and was one of the best.
I send my sincere condolences and it was a privilege to have known him.
    Rest in Peace Denis.

  2. I am sorry to hear, Gareth and shobha. I know how much a part of your life he was.

You’re a spitting image of Dad, Gareth!

  3. Still fondly remember our days working together The Age. Often high pressure but we always had time for a laugh. Condolences to the family.

  4. I have known Denis from our time spent together during our National Service together in Cyprus and continuing into civilian life. We joined Denis and Pamela on their wedding day in Selby and spent many happy times together on holiday while they were in England.
Since moving to Australia and on their return visit to family we have always managed to meet up one way or another. We have many fond memories of our own visit to Australia and meeting up with the rest of the family and having a really fun and very precise BBQ where the sausages had to all be in straight lines.!!
We offer our sincere condolences to all the family on your sad loss and pray that Denis and Pamela are together once again.

  5. We are so saddened to hear of your loss.

We are sure Denis is now in the loving arms of Pam enjoying their time together again.

I have known Denis and Pam for 49 years and have so many fond memories of them, which I will forever hold in my heart.

We send our deepest sympathy and condolences to you, Gareth, Karl and Families at this very sad time in your lives.

    Rhonda and Kev.
  6. Our heartfelt condolences on the passing on Mr Knapman Snr.
Though we have not met, we judge you as a man of great love and compassion which we see in your son Gareth.
We are certain you will find a comfortable place in the arms of the Lord.

  8. Thinking of you all at this sad time, and yet being thankful for all the happy memories.
Denis came into our family as Pamela’s boyfriend all those years ago, and we soon became very fond of him and enjoyed his lively company.
We will always remember him cooking on the BBQ with great skill when we stayed with Denis and Pamela on our trip to Australia. Denis was a very generous host and welcomed both David and Sally into the Knapman home, when they both spent time traveling, for which they were very grateful.
We all look back fondly on our time spent with Denis and Pamela, both at home and in Australia.

Lots of love to you all

  9. Denis will always be remembered as a very special cousin both to me and my family.
I was a little girl when he and Pamela emigrated with young Karl to Australia but throughout my life he has kept in close contact with me and I have lovely memories of when they made trips back to Wales.
Denis and Pamela made a wonderful life for themselves overseas but Denis never forgot his Welsh roots.
He was a great man with a great sense of humour and a huge heart.
Rest in peace dear cousin, love you always x

  10. Missing Denis and Pam,
We met in Darwin 20 years ago when both of us were doing a lap of Australia in our caravans.
Since that fortunate event we have remained good strong friends and will remember them both fondly.
As we did after Pam’s passing, we will enjoy a whisky or two to farewell Denis too.
Our thoughts are with you all.
    Much love and friendship
    Jenny and David.
