A much admired friend of my father, William Stephens (dec), who worked with George for a number of years and had great regard for the quality of his work.
Our thoughts, prayers and memories are with you all. George was a dear friend who will now be joining Margaret and Rosie for a long overdue catch up in heaven. Love from Maureen and the Nugent family.
George showed us in the building industry how to care for everyone, work happily and efficiently together, look at situations as they present with an open heart and bring everyone and everything together in harmony. An inspiration to the building construction programme students and teachers at RMIT University.
A rare gentleman.

Miss you Pa and so happy you can be peaceful in heaven with Nanny and Rose. I am so proud of all the hard work my dad has done looking after Pa the last years. I had a dream I went home and was telling Pa all about my travels in Mexico and Israel before he passed. So glad I had the opportunity to say goodbye to him even if it was in spirit. Sending love to all the family from Mexico x

A fitting farewell to a friend and fellow Builder.I had the pleasure of sharing time with George at MBA and RMIT meetings. I admired his persute for excellence in our profession as example Holy Family Church, stand out workmanship, not enough tradesmen take the time to produce this quality of work, He is a loss to the industry.
I appreciated the friendship we shared over many years,
May he Rest In Peace with the thought of a job well done

Saw the regularly in church, and even called around some times. It is the end of an era.

Thinking of you all on this very sad day. I always think of your Dad at Pakenham when Marguerite tricked me into and electric shock on the fence and George gave me no sympathy! He was larger than life and loved you all so very much. One of the good guys. Jewil xx
My sincere condolences to the Dore family.
A lovely gentleman who was loved by many.
Rest in peace.
A greatly respected member of our community. George contributed to building a strong and resilient community through the many organisations he was involved with.
Sincere sympathy on George’s passing. He was a strong man with principles and integrity. He will be long remembered for his contribution to the building industry.
It was an honour to know and work with George – a unique person.
God Bless
RIP
George was the big brother who ‘looked out’ for his little sister, my mother, Mary.
He always welcomed me into his family and I cherished listening to his lively and entertaining stories. I only wish I could have recorded some of them.
He always made me smile and will remain forever in my heart.
Sending our heartfelt sympathy to all the Dore family with much love from WA,
Maria, Will, Rose and Catherine White xxxx
Our thoughts and love are with the whole Dore family. We have fond memories of George and Margaret’s visit to Warracknabeal for your cousin’s wedding many years ago. George always had plenty to say, loved talking business with John, and made everyone he met feel valued. I have vivid memories of him, as I grew up in Mount Waverley, and as part of Holy Family parish. Once met, never forgotten. Our family will always be closely linked to the Dore family through John and Ji Shan, and through childhood adventures and precious time with Rose.
Thank you. Your message will be displayed once moderated. This may take up to 24 hours.
