Dearest Darren and Kim,
we would like to send our deepest condolences to all the family. We are all so sorry for your loss. Ineke was a very special lady.
I came to Australia from Scotland when I was 12 years old. At school Darren and I became friends. As a result, I spent a lot of time with the family as I grew up in Australia. Darren also spent a lot of time with mine.
Ineke welcomed me into her family as if I was her own. We went on many holidays together, including a trip to the Grampians. Ineke taught me how to play cards, especially 500. We had many a night playing until the ‘wee’ hours of the morning. I do remember that she nearly threw me out of the house one time for being a wee bit lippy.
Ineke introduced me to port and dark chocolate, and those wonderful Dutch almond biscuits. We played many a game of tennis together and she would always laugh at how I would bait Darren with a soft shot, and he would belt the ball back and hit it out of the courts.
Ineke invited me into her wider family with all of her brothers and sisters, and their families. I was incredibly lucky and thankful for this opportunity. They were all just as wonderful as Ineke.
Ineke would often try and copy my accent, especially when I was calling out to Darren. She would often chuckle to herself at her efforts. I would more often than nought just shake my head.
The last time I saw Ineke we hadn’t seen each other for so long. She looked exactly the same by I was a lot older and had grey hair. She said let me see your eyes. She cupped my head and looked into them. We then had the biggest hug. It was so wonderful to see her.
We can’t be there, but all our love goes to the family. We are thinking of you all in this time of loss.
Thank you Ineke for letting me be a part of your wonderful family.
Rest in peace lovely lady.
Love from all of us x
Heartfelt condolences , may all the time you had with ineke on earth be the most wonderful of memories
Thankyou oma for playing scrabble and letting me win some times.
Dear Darren and Kim,
My heart goes out to you and your family as l grieve the loss of such a beloved Auntie.
Ineke always accepted me for who l am, and seem to really understand me, while not many others do. l always felt so comfortable in her presence and always looked forward to family parties at Inekes and Davids house. Always the best fun ever, growing up
I remember visiting an empty shop that Ineke showed us, proudly saying this was going to be where she opened her new paint shop. Ineke was so excited. This is always how Ineke approached things. Loads of excitement and positivity.
I used to visit dad occasionally at Cooper Crt, and Ineke would always run out of her shop to give me a friendly wave, always displaying a huge smile. zl would wave back and we would chat loudly over the road.
l have only the fondest, lovong and happy memories of Ineke and of all our times together. She will be truly missed.
lm so sorry l couldn’t attend Inekes service today due to illness and distance, but she is truly in my thoughts, as are all of you.
Ineke was truly blessed to have such loving children and grandchildren that supported her with so much love and affection in her final years.
Deepest condolences.
