26 years of beautiful memories that built a friendship that lasted to the end and twenty years of being able to assist you to stay at home. Your memory and wisdom will live on always. We will miss you.
We were lucky to have Keith in our midst. He left his house practically empty- no need of modern trappings
I met Keith through Gabrielle and the Keeshan family when I was twelve in 1974. I adored my time with Keith who taught me how to ride and look after horses for many years there in Keilor, and I was one of many! Years later, about twelve years ago, I went with Gabrielle to Singing Stones to visit and ride. What a wonderful place, and he, Keith was a wonderful human being. Generous, compassionate, and always ready to lend a hand. He was truly loved and I’m sure will be missed by many.
Sincere condolences to all family and close friends.
I will fortunate enough to meet Keith through his dear friend, Claire.
What are wonderful man, a fantastic friend and incredible horseman.
The world is a better place because he was here.
I’m sure his loss will be felt for a very long time.
An honour and privilege to have gotten to know Keith since moving to Tubbut. He will be greatly missed, the most humble man we have ever met.
Sincerest condolences to Keith’s family. A wonderful friend to the Francis family. Many happy hours spent with Keith, especially at Kerang. Learning to ride horses and drive tractors and utes.
Always kind and caring.
. You will be missed by many Keith
Forever in awe of Keith’s steady hand – from watching him break in my pony Nessie (“the grey mare”) to years of rides on her and Sprite. Keith was always ready with a kind word and a reminder to savour the more simple moments in life. He will be very missed at Cabanandra.
Words cannot explain the passing of a truly unique man.
Keith was dearly loved and part of our family for over 70 years also being the caring partner of Nancy (decd.) Singing Stones and earlier ventures were testament to his amazing farming skills whilst his knowledge and love of horses were those of an era now passed. Keith and Nancy dearly loved SS with the Bonang community providing friendship, care and love for Keith in his later years. Memorable times will remain especially for family and friends fortunate to have experienced horse riding with him in the Snowy Mountain Parks.
Your loss is huge Keith and perhaps one day we may again saddle up the horses.
such a kind gentle man, always a friendly wave, a smile and a chat.
it was a pleasure knowing you, Keith.
many happy rides wherever you are.
may the sun be with you all the way.
Keith you have lived life to the full. You have been an inspiration to family and friends. Your love of horses kept them healthy and you got back on the saddle till your last few weeks.
Thank you for your care for Cabanandra, where your precious voice will constantly echo in the hills.
Keith you had a life filled with care kindness and you stayed on the saddle till near the last breath. You are an inspiration to family and friends. Your spirit still fills the Cabanandra hills.
Keith you gave your friendship readily and shared your knowledge in the most humble way. It was a privilege to know you and Nancy. Condolences to all Keiths family and friends
I feel truly honoured to say i’ve known such an incredible man. Keith will always be an inspiration to me, and a standard to aim for in how to live a good, healthy life. He was always a man I looked up to, and admired his calmness in any of the strange situations he would get himself in. You’ve been an amazing friend to me Keith, and to everyone that’s had the pleasure of knowing you. Thank you for all your wonderful, funny stories, we will make sure they are never forgotten.
Keith I wish I could have told you in person what a huge influence you were on my daughters and I, you were a true elder, so generous with your skills and time and more grit than sandpaper. I am so grateful for having known you and all the memories you have left us with.
I wish I had a photo of you riding logs down the mountain behind Silo and also Denis. Riding freestyle on red box logs zig zagging through trees and your pass arounds with the reins, knees bent for suspension, cap in place. 17 hand nugget draught horse up front and you out the back just so damn casual. There wont be another like you. Just taking it all in your stride. When things would get edgy you would say ‘sometimes you have to do things with out doing them’, your eyes would twinkle and we would swiftly and non chalantly continue with the mission. Truely a remarkable human, my heart hurts to think we won’t see you again. Many long rides to you x
We have had the pleasure and privilege of being acquainted with Keith for almost 30 years. One of nature’s gentlemen with never a bad word for anyone and loved by everyone with whom he came in contact . We will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Keith.
I Met Keith tò help him but I broght back great Life lesson . thanks. Fabrizio Mandello , Italy.
We were sad to hear of Keith’s passing today we have fond memories of Keith during the time my mother ran the Delegate River Tavern Keith was a great friend helping mum out where he could, nothing to much trouble.Sincere condolences to Keith’s family a true blue who will be sadly missed. Much love Mario and Jane Pinzone sleep peacefully Keith a life well lived.
A true horseman and a great wealth of knowledge. A generous bloke in every sense . Feel lucky to have a few lifelong memories of funny wild moments and adventures i shared with Keith and Nancy. My condolences to Keith’s family and friends .
I visited Keith through his dear friend Claire 20 years ago. He seemed a remarkable- and generous man: quintessential Australian, gentleman of Oz, Man of snowy river, extra-ordinary horse whisperer, gentle – and patient bush mentor, true green-eco warrior to the core (through his actions rather than words/labels), and Keith made his surroundings-, people-, horses-, dogs-, animals-, nature, a better place. My condolences to Keith’s family and friends. And my sympathies go to creatures who lost Keith (e.g. i imagine dogs howling into the night ,and horses neigh-ing and gallop-ping for Keith…).
On a beautiful farm, where the fresh mountain streams flow, there lived a kind and gentle soul named Keith. He was always welcoming and completely shared everything he possessed, including his beautiful horses. We instantly felt at home and relaxed, enjoying precious yet intense experiences together, such as long rides through the forests, swimming in the stream, sharing joyful dinners together and wombat hunting on his estate. Our memories will forever be replete with our fondest pleasures of the true outback and how precious it is to live a simple yet fulfilling life, as close to nature as possible. Thank you Keith for these wonderful moments and memories together. God speed and rest in peace ✨
Keith was a kind wise soul with a joyful attitude to life. He took me for a ride in the blue buggy behind Nellie and Missy only a few weeks ago!! My heart was racing with excitement to see those huge horse flanks moving with powerful strides so close in front of us. Keith wanted to go faster but I was fearful so he steadied the mares with his voice and they settled immediately. I was very impressed! Our world has lost a truly beautiful GENTLE man who loved to tell the story from his youth of being advised by an elderly man to live every moment of his life to the full because it goes bye so fast. Now Keith’s life has ended, it is up to each of us to carry this wisdom forward in our lives. Thank you Claire, Zoe and Myles for introducing me to Keith. He will be sadly missed.
Keith. First of all he was my godfather. So he was there from my very beginning. His impact on my life was immense. From the early days on the farm. His dogs. The horses. Following him all around the irrigation channels he always had trust in us. A rare quality I think. And the years we spent working together so many stories only Keith and I shared. I wish I could just hear one more! Such a good listener. His humility, patience and knowledge we were blessed to have Keith in our lives. A godfather, a father, grandfather too. He was everything to a lot of people and we miss him. Thanks for taking care of us, especially Nancy! Best days of my life were Keith and Nancy letting us tear around! Sneaking a bet on a race or in the mounting yards where Keith was beyond legend. I really miss you Keith and you really did have a huge impact on my life which I hope to carry through to the very end. Just like you did.
In memory of our great friend Keith,
We give thanks that you taught us all how to ride and appreciate the great Australian bush. And being so generous with all your wisdom and the great life you lived.
You will live forever in our hearts

Keith has been an inspiration and teacher both on and off the horse. We have loved him as one of our family. Buses, horses, laughs and adventures have all been influenced by him. It has been our honour to be one of the many that have loved and been loved by him. Keith, we think you’re a rockstar.
Keith you were our national Treasure, our man from Snowy River. You have been with us through all the births and taught all the kids their love of horses. You have been the quiet humble listener to all the trials and tribulations of our family. We love you like our own and will miss you so much Rest In Peace our friend Love The Richards
It was a pleasure to have met Keith through Zoe. He has left an imprint on our lives. We can only inspire to live a life as full as Keith’s. We will miss his face around our farm. Deepest condolences to Keith’s family xx
Although I only had the privilege of meeting Keith for a short time, I feel truly fortunate to have shared those moments with him and his family at Singing Stones. I look back on that time with great fondness – riding out with Keith and learning about his remarkable and intriguing life. I could have listened to his stories for hours as we rode peacefully through the bush. Thank you, Zoe, for introducing me to Keith, and thank you, Keith, for the kindness, wisdom, and memories you shared. Your way with horses was truly inspiring and I will carry those lessons forward with me. You’ve left a lasting impact, and your spirit will always ride with us. Rest easy, Keith x
