  2. So, my beautiful big sister Kim Douglas- has left us, and we are all broken by this ridiculous and completely unacceptable situation. Honestly, I keep thinking that I am going to wake up from this nightmare but, unfortunately, this all appears to be all too real. So now, I am forced to take solace in “wonderful memories” and “remembering the good times”…. However, I can tell you…. it doesn’t help….. But hey, don’t mind me…. Please don’t be offended by my disdain…. I’m just a brother who has lost the kindest, sweetest person that he has ever known…. “I just really miss her… and I don’t quite know what to do about that.” XX

  3. Thinking of all who loved and knew Kim today on this her birthday. I recall Kim as a most friendly and welcoming mum ( and then friend) when I taught music at Wattle Glen P.S. Many hours of chats and cuppa’ s until our lives changed and we both moved on from the area…(with a little contact a few years ago.) A strong, warm, caring lady. I am very sad to read of her passing. Condolences to all who knew and loved her, particularly her children. Annie. R.

Your Mum was such a kind woman, and I know you’ll miss her dearly. I feel so lucky to have known her as I grew up with you. There is no one in this world like your mother – she was a special woman and she will be with you always. 8. I have struggled to write this because writing it forces acceptance of the loss I feel.
However, accept it I must, and; I hope I can do my beautiful friend Kimmy at least a slither of justice.
Firstly my deepest condolences to your family Kim.
Georgia, Sam, Chelsea, and Ella my heart breaks for you all. Thank you for your kindness allowing me to share your Mum at such an intimate and personal time. Your gracious empathy will always be held dear by me.
Craig, Kim adored you and her face lit up whenever she talked about you to me.
Jackie, Denise and your extended families my heart also goes out to you.
    David….she adored you.
Mr Douglas – You raised an extraordinary soul. Please know that Kim respected you, admired you, loved you, and lived her life led by you. She was always “Daddy’s girl” and she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Kimmy we have shared a friendship for some 50 years.
In all honesty I have never met anyone with such a rare capacity to give love and forgiveness.
You gave love and you absorbed love and lived your life with positivity and empathy.
Like a magnet you attracted and radiated love, even near the end with a squeeze of your hand, a flutter of your eyelids or the tiniest of smiles, you were still giving to others.
I will miss our cocktail evenings, I will miss our secret chats, I will miss the warmth of our hugs, the raucous laughter and the silly giggles.
I will miss YOU my beautiful, beautiful friend.
Forever in my heart and memories

    Rest In Peace

    Jocelyn
    • Jocelyn, those are the heartfelt words of a genuine loving friend. Kim & I never had a conversation where she didn’t mention at least one family member or friend because she was all about love & care for those close to her.

  9. Our deepest condolences to all Kims family.
Such a loving, caring, kind hearted Soul and support worker to both my little boy Riley and I. You ALWAYS talked so much about your own children and family, and how much you loved them. Clearly one of the most devoted mothers I have ever known. Your love of looking after others was tremendous and it showed when you came to support Riley and I. Now having your brother, Craig as Rileys support worker, I can see the love and kindness runs in the family!
You helped me through such a rough time Kim and I will NEVER forget you. You have left a HUGE ever-lasting impression in my heart. Thank you for showing us so much love and for all the laughs we had. We are truly blessed to have had you in our lives.
We love you. Fly high beautiful Angel

  11. Darling Kim,
I am not even sure how long ago I received a call from you asking me about becoming a Support Worker, you had the kindest voice and such a believable passion for caring, I felt confident you would probably be perfect!
Kim you were more than perfect, I believe you were the best Support Worker I have ever placed.
Every single person you cared for loved you, even with all your own struggles all you wanted was to get back to looking after them.
You never complained, always found the good in everyone and cared from your heart.
Your heartbroken clients are going to miss you so much as will I.
Thank you for calling me Kim, I was the lucky one.
    Fly high darling Kim

  14. Kim joined the Dinosaur Dreaming family in 2006 and attended nearly all the annual field trips at Inverloch, including a few weekends held last year. She was also a member of the Bass Coast Prep Group and learned how to remove the fossil bones from the rock in which they were found. Kim will always be remembered by us for her happy, smiling, positive attitude to life and her valuable contribution to Victorian palaeontology. Our deepest sympathies go to her family. She will be sorely missed.

  16. Kim, I worked with you when you were a pharmacy assistant at The Angliss. We shared a house. you went to Karate once a week and came home gasping for water. Trish moved in with us and we played Trivial Pursuit most nights until dawn. Every time I play now I think of you. We had a mini-reunion with Trish and my Mum, we all felt like we’d gone back to 1985. You helped to make my 21st outfit. I thought of you earlier that day when I heard the devastating news. I believe it was you telling me you were OK now. Loved always, Helen Kelberg (Walsh).

  20. To you Dear Kim, my lovely daughter-in-law,
In quiet moments, I find myself re-living those special times spent with you — Happy Birthday celebrations for your children — Community Festivals when you did committee work — that great holiday on Fraser Island — and much much more.

You were always fun to be with, always positive and optimistic …….. and you worked very hard.

Now I am sharing the sadness that your 4 children, your Mum and all of your family must be feeling. They thought the world of you and you had so much love for them All.

    — And you really loved helping with
‘Dinosaur Dreaming’. How wonderful that you even gave lessons about dinosaurs to local school children.

It’s been such a joy to know you Kim.
There will always be love in my heart for you.
    (Keep on Dinosaur Dreaming Kim,
    down at the beach.)

  22. To my dear friend Kim,
Today we say our final goodbye. I feel very fortunate that your family were so generous in your final days to allow me to say that in person. To share memories, to joke around and tell you how much you are loved and admired. Kim you have left a wonderful legacy in your four amazing children. They were truly the lights of your life and you can be so proud of them all. I will remember you as the woman I knew to be beautiful both inside and out. Rest In Peace Kimmy and don’t forget the music.

    Susan Fergeus
  23. Kim was a warm and nurturing constant in the Dino Dreaming team. She was always quick to tuck a rookie under her wing, or to listen to a seasoned veteran vent about their day. She was quick to laugh, and to share joy. She shall be missed.

  26. Dear Kim
You will be truly missed by anyone that you had contact with. Your enthusiasm, commitment and love to anyone and any project was deep.
Our time together at Wattle Glen PS, especially when organising the festival was so special. All the planning and cuppas and chats. I will never forget. Our children benefitted from your endless desire to get them the best education experiences possible.
The Diamond Valley region lost a valued community member, when you moved away in later years
Although our contact waned, my thoughts of you have not.
I count my friends in quality not quantity. You were up there as a important person in my life.
    May you be at peace.
Your children will make you proud.
    Goodbye my friend

My condolences to all that knew and were loved by Kim.

  29. To my beautiful support worker Kim.
I needed to have an urgent operation I said I was scared , you comforted me..my phobia of hospitals, you spoke up for me and demanded better duty of care from the hospital you left but you said, I’ll see you on the other side but I never saw you again.

I tried so hard to get a hold of afterwards to no avail.

I checked on FB and saw the news..
    I cried afterwards for months.

you are a strength to me and never judged me..you helped and advocated for me about my mum…it now turns out, mum passed away a few months later she passed away too…I hope you are with her there.

Kim you are the most caring, optimistic, empathic worker I ever had.i respect you so much.

our favourite place we had had was kilcunda,Inverloch and Leongatha…I have never met a person as passionate as I am over the ocean and rocks. I learnt so much about dinosaurs and rock formation…beach shell fossivking.
and most of all shopping at Ishka.

thank you for believing in me, encouraging me and being the best support worker I have ever had .
    rest in peace
