Passed away peacefully on 9 May 2026
with loving family by her side.
Dearly loved lifelong soulmate and wife of Ray.
Mother to Andrea, Tracy & Chris.
Sister to Marcia & Robert.
Grandmother to Trent,
Haydn, Amy, Lachlan, James,
Maddison, Cooper, Millie & Lacey.
Great Grandmother to Euphemia, Lucy,
Loic, Fletcher, Freida, Heath & Huxley.
A Funeral Service for
Maxine Johnstone will be held at
David W Bull Pakenham Funeral Home,
190 Princes Highway, Pakenham
on Monday 18th May 2026
commencing at 11.00 a.m.
A private cremation will follow.

My sister Maxine was the best sister ever! I was glad I got to see her the week before she passed away. Deepest sympathy to Ray who loved Maxine with his whole heart for 61 years. Condolences to Tracy, Chris and Andrea, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We never lose the one we love, for even though they are gone, within the hearts of those who care, their memories linger on.
RIP my beautiful friend. We first met as workmates many years ago and a great friendship grew, along with our friend Gaye. As the years rolled by that friendship deepened and our moving to the country meant fun reunions each time we came to Melbourne. Bruce just loved your cupcakes and shamelessly ate far too many! Thank you for your friendship, we now have lovely memories of a beautiful lady.
True friends last forever.
I feel very privileged to have called Maxine my friend. We were teaching colleagues at Yarraman Park Primary School many years ago. Along with Thelma, the 3 of us continued our friendship after we had retired. Many wonderful afternoons were spent sharing our ups and downs in life, as well as our families successes. Maxine was so very proud of her family.
I think her 3 most precious things in the world were Ray, her children and her garden.
Thank you for being my friend. You are at peace now, Maxine.

Dear Ray, Andrea, Tracey and Chris,
What a wonderful celebration you all presented for dear Maxine. Despite the sadness I felt, you gave a perfect picture of the happiness and positivity in the way Maxine lived her life. I’m sorry I could not be there with you but I watched it ‘live’ with my niece Sally Levy and we were so delighted to hear your stories. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. You will always have those lovely memories. I still make ‘ Maxine’s Shortbreads’ every Christmas for my family and Sally’s family. We often talk of the times we were all able to get together. My brother Wayne and Marilyn Levy also had a special bond with Maxine and Ray. Much Love, Linda Mulholland
