Passed away at John Flynn Hospital, Qld.
Dearly loved son of Douglas and Mary (both dec.).
Loved brother of Heather.
Adored uncle of Roger (dec),
Leslie and Janet and family.
Admired and cherished by
all your carers over the last 24 years.

Both my wife (Jan) and myself pass on our sincere condolences to Peter’s (Stix’s) family and friends with the sudden loss of a great shipmate.
I first met Stix in 1977 when I joined HMAS Torrens and we developed a strong and lasting friendship.
I remember our first deployment during RIMPAC 78 and our first “Crossing the Line Ceremony” when Petty Officer (Jack) Frost targeted the both of us with that foul smelling substance which I can still taste today.
We met served on HMAS Yarra late 1979 and I am sure was the best ship in the fleet at the time and the best engineering crew that we ever served with.
Our deployment in 1980 to the USA, Canada and South Pacific region was so memorable because of people like Stix.
The funniest things that remember of Stix during that deployment were the night the Yarra Stockers took over the Submarine Base Bar in Hawaii, the big rig run at Disney Land and a funny photo I still have of Stix cuddling up to Minnie Mouse. ANZAC Day in Vancouver 1980 and almost being arrested. The big night in San Francisco, crossing the border from Mexico back into the USA wearing those hats and carrying all the Tequila. The case of the whispering weeds in APIA and so much more.
The amazed look on your face when you saw your first child for the first time on the wharf at Garden Island for the first time when returned from the USA.
Sorry I cannot be there on Monday to see you off mate. You will be deeply lost and remembered.
Keep the pressure on the Blood Line, no smoke and the beer cold for when we next meet.
Rest in peace Stix. For a stoker you were a good mate and a bloddy fine person. Catch ya on the other side.

A great sense of humor and a positive attitude enabled you to ride a Sportster from Rockingham to Bunbury. All other obstacles you took in your stride.

You were an inspirational person on all the ships you served on (Torrens or Swan is where I first met you) and have been continued this since your accident. Rest in Peace Stix.
Wishing I could be there on Monday to celebrate your life Pete. Reflecting back over the 9 years that I have known & worked with you, Your sense of humor amazed me, we had many laughs and a few tears along the way I am glad that I have such wonderful memories and will think of you often. Stix Blundy, it’s a sad day for all the friends of over 30 years. You smile and laughter will always remembered where ever Stokers and Chippies gather now and in the here after. Ride on free Stix ride on. You no longer tied to this mortal coil, until we meet again take care.
