Valerie “Joy” Featherby
Passed away peacefully on
Wednesday 24th September.
Aged 82 years.
Much loved mother of Sharon and Craig,
cherished mother-in-law to Darren and Di,
and adored “Gore Gore” to her grandchildren
Adam, Matthew and Claire.
Joy will be remembered for her
warmth, strength, and kindness.
Forever loved and deeply missed.
A Funeral Service
to celebrate the life of
Joy Featherby will be held at
David W Bull Pakenham Funeral Home,
190 Princes Highway, Pakenham on
Thursday 2nd October 2025
commencing at 10:30 a.m.
A private cremation will follow.
Following the service, refreshments will be served,
and a gathering will continue at
The Berwick Inn, 1 High Street, Berwick
from 12:30 pm onwards.

You were never one for fuss or flowers, yet you deserve every honour.
Thank you for your sacrifices, your love, and your courage. Thank you for showing me what it means to fight for what matters, to stand firm in what is right, and to believe that tomorrow will always come.
I will miss your stubbornness. I will miss your laughter. I will miss hearing your voice on the other end of the phone.
But most of all, I will miss you – my Mum, my Joy, my Val.
Rest peacefully now. You fought long and hard. Your race is run, and your work is done. May you be reunited with those you love, free from pain, and surrounded by the joy you so generously shared in this life.
As an old African blessing says:
“Those who are loved are never far away, for they live on in the hearts of those who remember them.”

. I send the sincerest of condolences to your entire family for the loss of your beautiful MOM who was a grandma, an aunt, sister & sister n law, and friend to so many of us. Her SMILE was always there and she always showed a lot of STRENGTH through all of her health issues over the years.
I have so many memories of times together…but always think of her excitement the year she got her ordered her new Mazda vehicle and she was always singing the ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM ad and could not wait to get the car……
A lovely lady who will be missed in our world!

I hold all my beautiful memories of you ,kind ,sweet Joy when we were in Rehab at St John of Good at the same time . Even though she was so unwell, she still comforted and helped me.. I will never forget that Joy!
